Hi, I’m Brett Carter.

I built Light This House because I know firsthand what the November rush feels like from the contractor side.

Before diving into software and AI, I spent years in the trade. I managed a Christmas light installation company in Victoria, BC, worked with a major wholesaler out of Richmond, and spent three years building and operating my own exterior cleaning company before selling it. Along the way, I leaned heavily into custom automations to cut down admin hours, and I realized how many of those tools could help other operators if made accessible.

Most software built for trades tries to do too much. It traps you in an expensive subscription, forces you into an all-in-one CRM you don’t need, and turns a simple visual mockup into a 20-minute ordeal with built-in quoting engines.

Light This House does one job well: you enter an address, pull the Google Maps street view, and instantly mock up lights on the house.
